On behalf of the entire Vascular Disease Leadership Council, welcome to ACC's Vascular Disease Member Section!

In recent years, the vascular field has significantly expanded with improvements in prevention strategies, early screening methods, imaging technologies, pharmacological therapies and procedural innovations. These developments include carotid artery revascularization, lower extremity limb salvage and amputation prevention practices, catheter-based therapies for venous thromboembolism and renal artery denervation for refractory/resistant hypertension.

The scope of vascular disease encompasses many aspects of cardiovascular medicine, including prevention, imaging, cardiometabolic risk modification, flow restoration therapies in both the arterial and venous space, and lifelong surveillance strategies for these patients.

These advancements have increased the need for greater awareness among our ACC Membership through education, collaboration with various ACC councils, cooperation with other vascular societies, advocacy efforts to address the growing lower extremity amputation crisis, and delivering science-based, quality-driven outcomes in this emerging field. We look forward to continued progress and engagement with the broader ACC membership, including all providers, CV team members and patient advocates.
